This is yet another Sesshoumaru/Rin. It’s a Drabble Collection, also AU, where they go from Kindergarten to  … whatever together. I think that they’re just now in high school at 44 chapters in. It’s pretty cute and involves basically all of the cast of Inuyasha.

This is actually a pseudo continuation of this author’s earlier work The Jakken Drabbles, which was set in the Feudal Era. Rin was doing most of the growing up – physically anyway.

*Ship: Duo/Heero, minor Trowa/Quatre

*Warning: guy/guy relationships, angst, and maybe a sex scene or two

If you didn’t already know, let me tell you: I am a massive 1x2x1 fanfiction lover. If I’m going to read anything from Gundam Wing, you can bet your life savings that it is featuring their relationship in some way. Rarely do I read about the others in comparison.

In any case, this is basically about life after being a Gundam pilot. Heero and Duo try to figure out a normal life – together. They go from being comrades to friends to lovers. It sounds sweet, but this story is not all sugar and butterflies. Its an honest look at how life could have went for the Gundam pilots after all of the wars were over. It pulls no punches.

Thankfully this story is complete, so you can enjoy it.

Ship: ROMY (Rogue and Gambit/Remy)

Warning: This fic is five years old and nowhere near finished. Also, its AU with no powers.

So its one of those, Rogue and Gambit are friends who like each other but never admit it to each other type deals. Its honestly a good fic, but the author has a hiatus habit, though every update IS in fact a new chapter.

I love this couple, so today might be all about them. I WILL post some Vegeta/Bulma fanfics though … at some point.

Edit: So like, I honestly do love this author; she puts out consistently good work. My issue is that she has started and finished a couple of fics since she began this one, but is still nowhere near completing it. She replied that she would rather update with something good than with anything at all, and that just shut me up. So go on, babe, take as long as you need. I’ll be right here waiting, trust me.

At this point, this story is a hop and skip away from the epilogue and, as much as it dragged, it was actually a pretty good powerless AU. You actually enjoy the long build up.

Ship: Goku/ChiChi

Warning: I haven’t really seen any yet … beyond the obvious AU.

Let’s be honest, there’s not a lot of good Goku and ChiChi fics out there. There’s not a lot of good fics out there to begin with, but, when it comes to DBZ fanfics, Goku/ChiChi seems to be a very neglected ship. A big factor might be that I read most of my fanfics rated M, but that rating reflects the rest of the fanfic pool so …

Anyways, imagine my surprise when this cute little fic pops on the scene. Goku’s a rogue Saiyan who lands on Earth, meets ChiChi and takes her on a wild adventure in Outer space. It’s still in its early stages, but I think this one has a lot of promise. An added plus is that it’s a lot better than majority of the fics in its category.

I feel like this is one of the most neglected canonical pairings.

Ship: Bulma/Vegeta

Warning: sex

Ah, finally a Bulma/Vegeta fanfic! There are alot of B/V fanfics out there that like to talk about those infamous three years when Bulma and Vegeta hooked up and conceived Trunks, but those have come to be long and tiresome to me so I tend to not read them. I’m honestly more interested in the after; when Vegeta goes back to Bulma and they make their way into becoming a family. I’m more likely to read those and Alternative Universe stories than I would that three year crap.

That being said, this one shot is basically about Vegeta going back to Bulma and them becoming a family. There’s some sex, but this ship is quite serious in letting you know that its characters have an extremely healthy sex life.

I Just Finished Reading The Tales of Dunk and Egg

I Just Finished Reading The Tales of Dunk and Egg

There are three of them: “The Hedge Knight”, “The Sworn Sword”, and “The Mystery Knight”. They’re about a hedge knight that ends up squiring Prince Aegon Targaryen, fourth son of the fourth son of Aegys Targaryen (AKA Maester Aemon of Castle Black’s younger brother). That kid.

In any case, all three stories are great reads in true GRRM fashion – because, you know, he wrote them. They’re technically about two or three generations ahead of A Song of Ice and Fire and one generation after the Blackfyre Rebellion, but they all give you some insight into life in Westeros under the Targaryens (pre-Mad King).

I wish there were more though. These stories are greatness, but I would have loved to see them make it to Winterfell. I wanted to know which side the North had fought on during the Blackfyre Rebellion. I want to get to know the Stark in Winterfell – or his bannerman, either one is fine.

Earlier today, someone complained (in the comment section of a GoT article on ScreenRant) that, on Game of Thrones, you don’t get to see things through the peasants’ perspectives. Like how their lives are during the events of ASoIaF, or even what they think of their liege lords, much less the queen. Now it must be said that this cat did not read the books, because then he might have known why it’s that way, but I saw where he was coming from.

The Tales of Dunk and Egg are exactly that though. Dunk isn’t exactly a peasant, but he’s not a noble either. He’s a hedge knight, roaming around Westeros, willing to fight for anyone who’s cause seems just. And you can’t help but love him. He teaches Aegon (Egg) to be more than just a spoiled prince ruling the commoners from his castle. He teaches him to be patient and listen; not to rely on his father’s position; not to rule someone out just because they’re a bastard. It’s an extremely heartwarming read that George R. R. Martin NEEDS TO WRITE MORE OF!!!

In anycase, ASoIaF fans and Game of Thrones fans (who are basically the same people), I entreat you to find yourselves a copy of The Tales of Dunk and Egg – or at least the books that these stories show up in, because you know he has other novels and whole collections of non-Westeros short fiction, right? Well, if you didn’t know, he does and you need to get at that.

Later days, babes

– Fan Girl X

Edit: A quick Wikipedia search tells me that there will be a fourth story about their travels into the North, but The Tales of Dunk and Egg won’t actually be a collection (read: actual book) until after said fourth story is finished published, so … I guess I’ll be buying that then.  lol

Lady Talisa or Jeyne Talisa Westerling?

Lady Talisa or Jeyne Talisa Westerling?

So I’ve been watching Game of Thrones for a minute, and I’ve only one book left in the current ASoIaF line up. Like you, I know that Jeyne Westerling is Robb’s wife in the book, which causes discord among his army men because he was supposed to marry a Frey. Also like you, I know that Lady Talisa is Robb’s love interest (now lover) on the show, who is going to cause discord among his army men because he is (still) supposed to marry a Frey.

So the question is, is Lady Talisa a new character thrust upon us to show some unneeded insight into Robb’s character that we were already getting anyway? Or is she Jeyne Westerling in disguise? According to the Game of Thrones Wiki, she’s Jeyne Westerling in disguise.

Originally, Oona Chaplin was announced as playing ‘Jeyne’, leading to fan speculation that she would be playing either Jeyne Westerling or Jeyne Poole, a friend and companion of Sansa Stark’s who accompanies her to King’s Landing.[1] It was later announced to be Jeyne Westerling.[2] However Chaplin’s character introduces herself as Talisa when she first appears. She goes on to say that she is from the Free City of Volantis.

Now this hurts me, just a little bit, because I swore up and down that Talisa as some new broad sent to eff with our minds. I could live with Jeyne Westerling, but it is extremely apparent that I’ve no love for Talisa; Ros had better reasoning to be around.

What’ll really be interesting is the reveal. Is Talisa really Jeyne Westerling or did they rewrite her character as a Lannister spy? Either way, she lied to Robb. Robb, being Ned Stark’s son, isn’t going to take that lightly.

Her lie wasn’t small and had to involve quite a few people seeing as how Jeyne is from the Crag, and they literally just came from there. People had to know who she really was. When your lie has to be helped by other people who are in on it, it has officially become dangerous. A lesser man would’ve flayed their skins off.

In any case, Talisa may or may not be Jeyne Westerling in disguise. What do you think will happen when the truth of it is revealed?

Originally written in March of 2012 on
So the truth of it was that she was just some chick Robb decided to marry. Literally, the only redeeming quality of this chick was that she got pregnant and suffered a tragic death by stabbing – in the stomach.  I will never love Talisa, because I honestly did not see the point in changing Jeyne. Yes, she becomes useless after Robb dies, but her parents were Lannister spies – at least her mother was. Idk, both were a means to Robb’s end, but I was fine with Jeyne, so I never saw that point in Talisa without some ulterior motive.
That Talisa = Rhaenys Targaryen theory? That would have been a great reveal.

This is a modern AU, where Sesshoumaru and Rin fall happily in love and get married, but then there’s an accident and now he can’t remember a thing about her or their relationship.

It’s truly gripping, and probably one of the better Alternative Universe Rin/Sesshoumaru fics out there. I know some people might not like it because they see Rin as Sesshoumaru’s daughter, but I like them just fine together – as long as Rin is of some type of a respectable age.

In any case, I said I would do more fan fiction posts. I apparently need to set a template though.

So it’s about time I posted something about the fanfiction I read … even though no one reads this blog.

This is a Codename: Kid’s Next Door fanfic that picks up from about ten years after Kuki leaves for Japan. Anyways, she comes back for college to find Wally’s with Abby, Hoagie’s with Fanny, Niegel’s still with Lizzie but wanting Rachel (362). Then you throw Wally’s almost-convict half-brother and his friends into it and lawd, can we say drama?

At twenty-nine chapters in (including the 1-3 I might have skipped because I thought this story had been abandoned), I must say that this is a work of art, the likes of which FF.Net hasn’t seen since about 2008. I love it. I love the length, the characters, the drama; I love it all. This might just be the best fanfic that fandom has to offer – especially considering the small pool there is to choose from, and fanfiction being notoriously filled with more bad writers than good.

So I salute this Dinosaurs R Dead person, he/she did an awesome job and I hope to see the end of this fic – no time soon though, I like it too much.
