Review Roundup – September 7th to 13th, 2020

In which I tackle Blue Saffire's Yours series.

This week I tried a new girl in my KindleUnlimited line up, and then went back to Blue Saffire. I think it’s beyond time for me to do a Blue Saffire writeup, but I know it won’t be pretty.

Marrying Him Twice by Lidia Porter

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

When Jess’s fairytale marriage to Mason turned out to be a lie, she moved far away to get over it. However when Mason offers an arrangement that Jess can’t refuse, she finds herself giving her workaholic ex-husband a second chance.

This book moves a bit faster than the story suggests, but the writing somewhat makes up for it for about 70% of the book. Ultimately it is an enjoyable, though quick, read. I wish we had gotten a bit more development in Mason and Jess’s second try at a marriage, but I guess it worked out in the end.

Losing My Innocence by Blue Saffire

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Nick Lincoln has been a godsend in Sephora Emilsson’s life, but she never thought he’d honestly be interested in her. And he’s VERY interested.

I’m unfortunately writing this review after finishing the entire series. Nick and Sephora’s relationship is wildly intense, all things considered, but I think it’s a good read at the end of the day. Blue Sapphire takes the opportunity to really experiment with cliff hangers, and I can’t say it doesn’t pay off.

Gaining Experience by Blue Saffire

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Heartbroken, Sephora Emilsson tries to move on without Nick Lincoln. Except, things are not as they seem, and Nick won’t give up without a fight.

To be quite honest, this is where Blue Saffire really starts pushing the subplot, but I’ll be honest and say that a lot of things were missed here. It’s impossible for me to get into it without spoilers.

If you’re like me, and a completionist, you’ll finish this book because you want to make your way through Blue Sapphire’s bookverse. If you just want a hot sexy book to read, this won’t make sense without the first book. Otherwise, this book is Eye Roll City.

Life Mastered by Blue Saffire

My rating: 2 of 5 stars

Nick Lincoln is tired of someone trying to mess with his life. So this time, he’s making sure to deal with it … but not before marrying Sephora Emilsson.

Even though this book is supposed to have all the action and suspense, the reveals are trash because a lot of it was not seeded well. Also, five other romances may have been going on, and I can’t be sure which of them are technically their own book.

Yours as a series could have been great, but, to me, it really wasn’t, and this novel is where it falls apart.
